A Note on Ammunition Shortages

I haven't been hearing as much about ammunition shortages as I was a year or so ago, but there are still some problems with supplies out there.
My worst experience so far:
I ordered 4 boxes of CCI GamePoint 40-grain loads for my 22 WinMag Rimfire from Midway USA on July 28, 2009.
I finally received my ammo in mid-August, a little over 12 months after I had placed the order. Wow.
It was so hard to come by that now I'm afraid to use any of it.
