Field Report: Colorado Early Teal Season
September 19, 2011.
I hunted the last day of Colorado's early teal season on Sunday, and things were definitetly slow.
I saw a grand total of only 2 teal, but managed to get both of those. I also saw a couple of mallards, but, in general, there are very few ducks in eastern Colorado right now.
The best is definitely yet to come for duck hunting, and I don't think the relatively late October 8 opener is a bad thing at all -- the overwhelming majority of ducks are still up north.
