Nebraska Moose?
August 5, 2011.
Here's something I heard about on the NebraskaLand Magazine blog.
A Nebraska Bighorn Sheep Conservation Tech spotted a wandering moose while conducting her daily bighorn sheep monitoring activities in the Wildcat Hills south of Gering, NE last week.
“The moose appears to be a young bull, probably about a two-year-old says Todd Nordeen, district wildlife manager at the Game and Parks Commission’s district office in Alliance.
“We’ve seen a moose here in the Panhandle at least three out of the last five years,” he added. About two years ago, another bull moose took up residence in Lake Minatare, northeast of Scottsbluff for several days.
The Panhandle moose are believed to be moving out of southeast Wyoming, following the North Platte River.
