The Most Unusual Pronghorn Hunt I've Ever Heard Of...

To my knowledge, Outside magazine doesn't publish alot of hunting stories. The only one that I've ever personally seen there is probably also the wierdest hunting story I've ever come across.

It's the story of a New Mexico pronghorn hunt where the animal is pursued -- literally -- by a group of distance runners.

Their on-foot pursuit is an effort to illustrate ideas around how human physiology evolved and how we first started hunting -- by running animals in to exhaustion, then bonking them in the head with a rock and eating them.

Interesting story, but I will not be trading in my .257 Weatherby for a pair of running shoes.
