Offending Grizzly Trapped and Relocated in Montana

October 24, 2007.

In a previous update, we described the grizzly attack that occurred when a bird hunter had an accidental run-in with a bedded grizzly near near Valier, Montana.

On October 18, Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks successfully trapped the offending bear, a 330-pound, 2-year-old male.

The grizzly was fitted with a radio collar and released on the Ear Mountain Wildlife Management Area on October 19.

If the bear had had a track record of problems with humans, he would have been destroyed.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks press release.
