Wolves and Weather Blamed for Tough Season in Idaho

Preliminary indications are that the deer and elk harvest has been slow in Idaho this year.

Tough winters are being cited for a decrease in deer populations, while wolf predation is being blamed for a decrease in elk numbers.

"Overall, I would say we're down a little bit, about 15 percent," said one meat processor, noting that last year was also 15 percent down from the previous year.
