Montana Moose, Sheep, Goat Regulations Available

March 17, 2008.

Montana's Moose, Sheep, and Mountain Goat application booklets are now available on the website of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

Some of the key changes for 2008 include:

  • Expanded sheep hunting opportunities for archery hunters. If you draw a bighorn tag, you can hunt with archery equipment for 10 days prior to the start of your district’s general sheep season opener. This does not include HD301 or the
    unlimited entry districts.
  • For goat, HD212, HD321, and HD322 are closed this year.
  • For moose, there are changes in HDs: 210, 211, 214, 215, 302, and 334 and new HDs 390 and 600.
  • For sheep, there are changes in HDs: 121, 301, 380, 500, 501, 502, 503, 620, 622, and 680.

Application deadline is May 1. Drawing is the third week in June.
